Roland E. Murphy

Roland Eugene Murphy, 76, of Fredericksburg passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Murphy was the owner of Colonial Assembly and Design in Fredericksburg and part owner of Colonial Circuits in Fredericksburg. He was an avid sportsman, loved hunting and fishing and holds the world record spadefish. He was a very loving husband and father, and his family and friends meant the world to him.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Livia M. Murphy of Fredericksburg; son Brian E. Murphy and wife Christine of Woodbridge; brothers John Murphy and wife Karen of Kensington, Md., and Leon Murphy and wife Lotty of San Angelo, Texas; sisters Barbara Westwood and husband James of Unionville and Judy of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at noon Friday, Jan. 31, at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
