Forest Lee Flanagan, 61, passed away suddenly at his home in Fredericksburg on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014.
Forest was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Connie Flanagan.
Forest is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rebecca Griggs Flanagan; his son, Forest Lee Flanagan II; and his daughter, Shelby Jean Flanagan; his brothers, Herman M. Flanagan of Huntington, W.Va., and David B. Flanagan of Jamaica Plains, Mass.; two aunts, Shirley Wilcox and Gloria Vaughan; one uncle, Raymond Crowder; a sister-in-law and her husband, Robin and Ricky Gwathmey; one niece, Sarah Griggs Reilly; and a nephew, James Robert (Bob) Reilly.
Forest was a physical therapist affiliated with Fredericksburg Orthopedic Associates. The caring for his patients was never-ending and tireless.
He was an avid Washington Redskins fan as well as a fan of Dale Earnhardt, The Celtics, Notre Dame football and UNC basketball. He loved the outdoors, hiking, playing sports and snow skiing.
A service for Forest will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, at Smyrna Christian Church, 3655 Powcan Road, Bruington, VA 23023, with interment in the church cemetery.
