Hattie Belle Bolton, 78, of King George County passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, at Bowling Green Health and Rehab.
Hattie was born in Potomac, Md., on April 13, 1935, to the late William and Maude Pier. She was the youngest of five sisters.
A very gifted and accomplished self-taught artist, she was known for her stunning paintings and pen-and-ink drawings. Her beautiful handmade quilts won many awards.
Hattie retired from King George County as a school bus driver. She had also retired from United Airlines.
She is survived by her children Susan Young, Bonnie Jane Coffey (Russ), Bill "Peanut" Meade (Carla), James Bolton (Sherry), Marion Critchley (Don), Lester Bolton (Chris), Bill Bolton (Jean), Larry Bolton (Cathy) and Alvin Bolton (Drenda); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Bolton; daughter Margaret Ware, and grandson William Meade.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, King George. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in History-
