William S. Harris

William Stanley "Bill" Harris Jr., 72, of Bowling Green died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014.

Born in Richmond, he was a longtime businessman in Caroline County, owning and operating AAP Inc., Wheels and Keels and was the former co-owner of the Cafe on Main Street. An avid NASCAR fan, Bill was a member of the Caroline Ruritan Club and a founding member of the Hack's Neck Hunt Club. He cherished his time spent in Florida, whether it was boating, fishing, golfing or racing.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Harris; two daughters, Dodie Fix (Terry) of Louisa and Melissa Simpson (Lou) of Ladysmith; five grandchildren, Logan, Harrison and Taylor Simpson, Elizabeth Fix and Alex Harris; and many cherished family members, friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his son, William Stanley "Treye" Harris III.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at Bowling Green Baptist Church with a viewing one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover..
