After reading your Feb. 23 article about Beau and Tracy Barbeau ["Roast to aid trauma survivor"], I felt compelled to write.
Five years ago, my ex-wife received a horrible cancer diagnosis. We went to the top doctors and medical schools and received multiple opinions. Ultimately, the doctors were wrong and, praise God, she is now cured.
However, the potential of losing a spouse, concerns for our three children, the fear of the unknown and mounting debt ended up destroying our marriage.
I write to remind readers to support and help Beau, but especially please do not forget Tracy. When the wishful calls, letters, donations, etc. end, people need to remember the constant caregiver.
