Thomas Leo Brennan

Thomas Leo Brennan, 86, of Stafford County passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at University of Virginia Hospital.

Born the son of Catherine M. and James A. Brennan on Dec. 15, 1927, the youngest of six siblings, Thomas served in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the European Theater, and later served in the Marines, Maritime and National Guard. He married Margaret Ena Keaney on Oct. 12, 1952, and together they raised four children, living in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Virginia. He worked for the Navy at Crystal City, Arlington, for 25 years, participating in the Standard Missile Project, Ships Gun Department and Torpedo Shop. Following retirement from the Navy, he worked part time at the Fredericksburg Auto Auction .

The most rewarding thing in his life was being married to beautiful Ena for 50-plus years, until her death in 2010, and enjoying his children and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Survivors include his four children, David, Steven, and Mark Brennan, and Jeanne McColl; seven grandchildren: Marshal, Crystal, Kimberly, Lindsey, Sean, Cara and Brandon; and a sister, Louise Doogue.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 24, at Covenant Funeral Service, Stafford.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at St. William of York Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
