Nancy M. Honaker

Nancy M. Honaker, 80, of Fredericksburg passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, at her home.

Mrs. Honaker was the widow of Ben J. Honaker. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was the co-founder and retired owner of the Magic Door Knob, and subsequently worked at Mary Washington Home Health Agency.

Affectionately known as "Mimi" by many, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand-mother who was always caring and giving to others.

She is survived by her two children, Patricia M. Honaker and B. Judson Honaker Jr. and his wife, Christy; three grandchildren, Amanda E. Haynes, Paige M. Honaker and Grant J. Honaker; two great-granddaughters, Arianna Housey and Alyssah Housey, all of Fredericksburg; and one sister, Anne M. Smith of Spotsylvania.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Louis C. Mitchell and Nannie T. Mitchell; and two brothers, Carlisle T. Mitchell and L. Jackson "Jack" Mitchell.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
