William C. Shutt

William Carlton Shutt, 68, of Mineral passed away at his residence Friday, March 14, 2014.

Mr. Shutt was born to George and Anna Kalevitch Shutt in Fall River, Mass., on April 5, 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired from AT&T after 28 years as a manager.

In retirement he moved to Lake Anna, where he cherished visits with children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary and loved Elvis and his Harley.

Surviving Mr. Shutt are his wife, Carol E. Shutt; his children, Carlton W. Shutt, William A. Shutt, Matthew J. Shutt and his wife, Andrea, and Christina S. Cooper and her husband, Matthew; his siblings, Evelyn Lussier, Helen Santos, Roberta James, Gerald M. Shutt and George Richard Shutt; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Arlene Wilding and Robert Shutt.

A service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, with Chaplain Greg Compton conducting the service in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home. Interment will be in Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of service.
