Deloris A. Harris

Deloris A. Harris, 62, of Spotsylvania County passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at her home surrounded by family and friends.

She attended Spotsylvania High School and worked at the Mary Washington College dining hall for 26 years. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother and friend.

Deloris is survived by her husband of 42 years, James L. Harris Sr.; two children, James Harris Jr. (Laura) and Lisa Buckley (Dustin); five sisters, Martha Boggs (the late Tucker Boggs), Blanch Wolfrey (Ronald), Barbara Samuels (James Fox), Catherine Wolfrey (John) and Fannie Morris (Wallace); two brothers, John Ferguson (Cookie) and William Ferguson (Kayla); five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Ferguson and Ida E. Ferguson.

Deloris was a hard-working and loving person. She was the beauty of the ball. She danced, gave hugs and kisses, and laughed and joked all of the time. She was full of life. She knew what Cinderalla felt like. You name it, she did it!

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Sylvannah Baptist Church, Spotsylvania, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m.
