Camilla M. Spinney

Camilla Marie Spinney, 75, of Winchester departed peacefully from this life with her family by her side on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Winchester Medical Center.

Ms. Spinney was born in 1939 in Medford, Mass., a daughter of the late James I. and Anna G. Gillis. Camilla was employed in many various positions over the years including bookkeeping, special education assistant and manager of a 7-Eleven. However, she considered her children and grandchildren her greatest accomplishments. Camilla loved shopping and playing on the computer and Internet. She was outgoing and spontaneous and will be forever remembered for her personality and sense of humor by all who knew her.

She is survived by her life partner, Charles Davis of Winchester; daughters Kim Beach and husband Wesley, Kerry Blake and husband Gary and Lynne Cook, all of Winchester, and Jodi Beard and husband Alan of Chesterfield; a son, Alan Spinney and wife Susanne of Gahanna, Ohio; sisters Nancy Roehleder of Stockton, Calif., Deborah Ward of Lowell, Mass., and Jerilyn Tait of Saugus, Mass.; brothers James Gillis of Glen Cargon, Ill., Jon Gillis of Saugus and David Gillis of Scituate, Mass. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Ms. Spinney was preceded in death by sisters Gertrude Pennett, Rita Snydeman, Lillian Bate and Carole Nigro; and one grandchild, Darrell Cook.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, Winchester..
