Sue H. Kimbrough

Our beloved Sue Haden Kimbrough, the daughter of the late Charlie Benjamin Haden Sr. and Dorothy Payne Haden Dorsey, slipped away to glory early Monday morning, March 24, 2014, at her home in Jamaica, N.Y.

Sue graduated from Central High School in Goochland in 1951 as salutatorian of her class. She later matriculated and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Shaw University. She received a master's degree in business education in 1976 from Morgan State University. Continuing her education, she received another master's degree from New York Tech. She served as professor at Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York, N.Y.

Sue Haden Kimbrough leaves to cherish her fond memory three sisters, Ann H. Wilkins and Parfena H. Quarles of Goochland and Fannie D. Hawkins of Philadelphia; three brothers, the Rev. Dr. Joseph Haden Sr. (Diane) of Fort Washington, Md., Dr. Charles B. Haden Jr. M.D. (Joyce) of Goochland and Cornell Haden of Natural Bridge; one devoted aunt, Nancy Haden Fisher (109 years old) of Yeadon, Pa.; a devoted cousin, Camilla Payne Oden of Norfolk; a special aunt-in-law, Elnora P. Haden of Goochland; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Two brothers, Percy Raymond Haden and Daniel Haden, preceded her in death.

A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at Second Union Baptist Church, 2843 Hadensville-Fife Road, Goochland, VA 23063, with Pastor Stevie M. Trent Sr. officiating and Pastor Joseph Haden Sr. as eulogist.

The family suggests that donations be made to the Sue H. Kimbrough Scholarship Fund, c/o of Aunt Berta's Kids Education Foundation, Box 44441, Fort Washington, MD 20749.
