John T. Hall

John Thomas Hall, 81, of Warrenton, a longtime Redskins fan, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Bealeton. The cause of death was complications of progressive supranuclear palsy.

Born Oct. 4, 1932, in Fredericksburg, John graduated from James Monroe High School, where he was captain of the football and basketball teams. He attended the University of Richmond and Strayer College, where he received a degree in business management. John served with the U.S. Army in Europe, completing a tour of duty in Germany in the mid-1950s. He married Anne Maureen Conner in 1958, and after living in Richmond for several years, he and Anne moved the family to Warrenton. John retired as vice president of operations at Freeman Beverage Co. in Fredericksburg in 2007.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Conner Hall; two children, Charlotte Anne Hall of Alexandria and John Nelson Hall of Fairfax; two sisters, Kitty Curtis of Dallas and Jean Thompson of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and two grandchildren, Savannah Hall and John Stewart Hall. He was predeceased by his parents, John L. Hall and Clara A. Hall; and a sister, Elizabeth H. Heflin.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, at Little Georgetown Cemetery, Broad Run, followed by a reception at the Smokehouse at Airlie at 3 p.m.
