As the city election approaches, I encourage voters to consider the past performance of the candidates, as past performance is representative of what we can expect of each candidate should they be elected to city council.
Richard Friesner is a man of action with a proven record of service to this community. As a member and active participant on the Wetlands Board, Board of Zoning Appeals and the College Heights Civic Association board of directors, and as chairman of the Planning Commission, he has dedicated countless hours to ensuring that Fredericksburg continues to be a great place to live, work, raise a family, own a business, vacation or retire.
Throughout this campaign he has dedicated hundreds of hours going door-to-door working to understand the needs of those whom he seeks to represent.
He has developed a plan of action to help broaden the tax base in order to increase revenue without further burdening homeowners.
His plan calls for economic and tourism marketing that utilizes public-private partnerships, new commercial districts, and responsible economic growth developed through his involvement with the Chamber of Commerce, Regional Alliance and the Economic Development Authority to advocate for business development within the city.
Nearly 10 years ago I fell in love with this man because of his honesty, integrity, strong work ethic and commitment to service and civic engagement. It is these characteristics that he will bring to City Council.
