Elizabeth Roxena "Polly" Newton, 93, of White Oak in Stafford County died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mrs. Newton was the widow of the late Patrick D. Newton. She loved people and helped run the White Oak Civil War Museum until she was 90.

Survivors include her five children, Mabel Forshee of Orlando, Fla., Bertha "Boots" Sullivan and husband Eugene of White Oak, Joan Lucas and husband William of Orange County, D.P. Newton and wife Bonny of White Oak and Jimmy Newton and wife Anna of Lake Anna; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Duval "Mann" Sullivan and wife Judy of White Oak; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Mr. Charles "Bootsie" Bullock officiating.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Newton, Dennis Williams, Robert Sullivan, Glenn Trimmer, David Harper and Ray Newton. Honorary pallbearers will be Mickey Schenemann, Dan Poppen and Noel Harrison.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to White Oak Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Betty J. Lael, 985 White Oak Road, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
