Joseph W. Nixon

Joseph Warren Nixon, 49, of Spotsylvania County passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014, at his home.

Joe was employed with eVigilent Solutions for the past year. His family thanks his employer for their generous support. He had been employed previously at Security Systems Technology for more than 10 years and made many good friends throughout his career.

Joe was a loving husband and was devoted to his family and friends. He was the president of the Virginia Chapter of the Mettle Republic Motor Cycle Club and an avid member of the Roaring Renegades Mustang Club. Joe loved to travel, and made seven cross-country motorcycle journeys with friends, solo and twice with his wife, Terry. He was able to see and do what most people plan and wait their entire lives to do, but never get the chance. Joe did things his way, maybe not the right way by some and maybe envied by others, but he lived his life the way he wanted to as much as time would allow.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Terry Nixon; two children, Amber and Joey Nixon; mother Marie Wolfe and husband Lloyd; father Gary Nixon and wife Rosa; two brothers, Matthew Nixon and son Travis and Brandon Nixon and wife Ashley; an uncle, Lonnie Nixon; and a friend for more than 45 years, Roger Pearson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, a trust will be set up for the children. Please contact Terry Nixon.
