Betty Soedler

Betty Jean Pohl Soedler, 83, of Lake of the Woods, Locust Grove, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2014.

She was a member of the Lioness Club and the Republican Women's Club. Her two biggest regrets were that the Minnesota Vikings never won the Super Bowl and the Chicago Cubs didn't win the World Series in her lifetime. Betty was always up for an adventure.

Betty was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Pohl. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George; two brothers; and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Georgia VanWingerden; son James Soedler; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Pohl and Stanley Pohl; and many caring friends.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove. A private graveside service will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lake of the Woods Fire and Rescue.
