Citizens of the United States now carry bounties on their heads while traveling overseas.
With the release of Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in a prisoner exchange, the federal government has now raised the risk to every one of us who travels outside our borders.
Don't get me wrong, it's great that Bergdahl was freed. But at what cost?
Our now-open negotiation with terrorists, after years of a policy of "no negotiations," has placed a price on all of our heads. Terrorists can now gleefully take American hostages and know that eventually they'll get their price for their captives--whether that price is monetary or political.
This is a low and disastrous day in American foreign and defensive policies.
