Janet W. Fines

Janet Webb Fines found eternal rest on Sunday, June 15, 2014. She resided for most of her life in the community of Parker in Spotsylvania County.

She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Mine Run. Mrs. Fines was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edgar and Virginia Sullivan Webb.

After graduating from Spotsylvania High School, Mrs. Fines began her career at the Free Lance-Star. She retired in 1994 from the Spotsylvania County Circuit Court Clerk's office.

Mrs. Fines is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas W. "Hershey" Fines; three daughters, Tracey Woolfrey and husband Charles of Mine Run, Tamara Gostelow and husband Stephen of Spotsylvania and Terri Pierce of Walkerton; one sister, Peggy Peregoy and husband William of Spotsylvania; and two brothers, C. Donald Webb and wife Debra of Spotsylvania and E. Ronald Webb and wife Carolyn of Ruther Glen. Other survivors include Mrs. Fines' mother-in-law, Geraldine Fines of Stafford; an aunt, Audrey Hart of Fredericksburg; and six grandchildren, Adam, Jason and Katelyn Woolfrey, Blake Gostelow, Calvin Lovett and Samantha Pierce.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, with the Rev. Peyton Wiltshire officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will be in the cemetery of New Hope Baptist Church, Mine Run.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Fines' nephews: William G. Peregoy, Thomas Peregoy, James Peregoy, Thurman Campbell II, William Campbell, Christoper Campbell, Scott Campbell and Daniel Webb.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, Box 937, Verona, VA 24482.
