We didn't break Iraq, and shouldn't fix it

We didn't "break" Iraq and so have no obligation to fix it.

First, Iraq was "broken" under Saddam. His gassing, bombing and attacking Iraqi peoples from Kurdistan through Anbar to the Gulf, and his destabilizing the area by attacking Iran, Kuwait and threatening Saudi Arabia were more dysfunctional than anything we did.

America found Iraq broken, and we tried to fix it. This is a civil war. Of course some terrorists join in; they always do.

Should America throw away good lives, good treasure, good reputation and good self-respect after so much already lost? We should have learned in Vietnam: You cannot help people who will not help themselves!
