Varick J. Raymo Jr.

Varick James Raymo Jr., 91, of Lorton passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter Michelle (Bobby); son Richard (Bernadette); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

During World War II, Mr. Raymo served for 29 months with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Alaskan Aleutian Islands chain and was stationed in Dutch Harbor, defending our homeland.

He most enjoyed being surrounded by family, boating and watching Redskins football. He and his love of life, compassion and eternal youthful exuberance will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m.. Friday, June 27, at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge. A reception will follow at 5819 Oak Grove St., Lorton.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
