William H. Selph

William Henry Selph, 74, of Ringgold, died Monday, June 23, 2014, at Stratford Health & Rehab Center after declining health over the past 10 months.

Born in Fredericksburg on June 1, 1940, he was a son of the late Wilber Selph and Margaret Fore MacNelly. Mr. Selph owned and operated William Henry Selph Hauling in Fredericksburg. He was of the Baptist faith. On July 9, 1958, he married Mildred Chester Selph, who survives him.

In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include two granddaughters, Cassandra Shelton of the residence and Candice Burnette and husband P.G. of Fort Hood, Texas; three brothers, Frank, James and Clarence Selph; an uncle, Hampton Fore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by daughter Cheryl Selph Shelton; stepson Bobby Jordan; and sisters Cordie Whittaker and Edith Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at Wrenn--Yeatts North Main Chapel in Danville.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Laurel Grove Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Jason Arthur.
