Vincent G. Blasco

Vincent G. Blasco, 73, of Stafford County passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at home.

Born in San Francisco on July 21, 1946, he was a son of Vincent George Blasco, a career naval officer, and his wife, Lillian Haarstad Blasco.

Vince is survived by one son, Edward Blasco; a granddaughter, Karissa, and his first wife, Doris Rogers. He is also survived by his present wife of 20 years, Susan H. Blasco; her son by a former marriage, David Shuster, his wife, Wanda, and their two children, Nathan and Penny; brother David Blasco and his wife, Dorothy; and sister Pamela DeLislie, her husband, Pete, and their three children, Henry, Stephen, and Lillian.

Vince, as he liked to be called, studied the Bible in college and held various occupations before spending the last 23 years in the same-day courier business. He helped schedule many deliveries of packages, including many donated organs, to get them where they were going immediately.

Vince had two passions that he followed loyally. He loved to go to baseball games and the movies. He spent much of his retirement going to both. In addition, he was a dedicated member of a 12-step program that he took part in for 23 years. It helped him, and he helped others in the program.

Vince was a dedicated Christian, helping in various capacities at his church, St. George's Episcopal in downtown Fredericksburg.

A service in remembrance of his life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at St. George's Church. Interment will be private preceding the service..

In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to St. George's Episcopal Church, for either the Table or FredCamp.
