Joanne Clurman

Joanne Beeker Clurman, 64, of Nashua, N.H., passed away Monday, July 14, 2014.

She was the beloved mother of Anthony Clurman and wife Suzanne, Michael Clurman and wife Susan and Jason Clurman and wife Cade. She is also survived by sister Mary Barbara Weyandt, Nancy M. Brockmeyer, Jane Frances Daw, Patricia Ruth Sachs, Paul Gerard Beeker and Jennifer Jean Nilsen; grandchildren Cody, Bailey, Josephine, Ryan and Carter, with a sixth grandchild expected in the next two weeks; her dog Oliver; and other extended family members.

Joanne was a breast cancer survivor who made pink-and-white quilts for others diagnosed with breast cancer. She believed the quilts gave those in treatment hope and encouragement to survive.

Her own heroic journey was made into a quilt named "Secret Tears" that hangs in the Breast Center at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. Throughout the years, her love for quilt making reached out to many others who were battling cancer.

A gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, Md., with a graveside service to follow at Parkwood Cemetery in Baltimore.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Center at Anne Arundel Medical Center at aahs.org/breast.

Online condolences may be made to eckhardtfuneral chapel.com.
