L. Dwight Wenger

L. Dwight Wenger, 73, of Fredericksburg passed from this life on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

He was a faithful Christian and served as an elder at Spotsylvania Church of Christ.

One of the delights of his life was playing his bass guitar with the West Hanover Boys in Montpelier.

Mr. Wenger enjoyed traveling with the wife of his youth and cherished birthday and holiday gatherings with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Pat Wenger; two sons, James Dwight Wenger and wife Jennifer and Barry S. Wenger and wife Colleen; daughter Robin Wenger Riddick and husband Lance; brother Charles Wenger and wife Joyce; sister Annette Williams and husband Jim; eight grandchildren, Caleb Riddick, Joshua Riddick, Erika Wenger, Emily Martin, Isaac Riddick, Rebecca Wenger, Ben Wenger and Megan Wenger; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard E. Wenger and Fannie S. Wenger.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Dale Memorial Park in Chesterfield.
