John L. Wright

John Logan Wright, 95, of Chancellor's Village in Fredericksburg died on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Mary Washington Hospital.

Mr. Wright was a graduate of the New York State Technical Institute at Alfred. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater of Operations.

He and his late wife, Genevieve, were longtime residents of Ossining, N.Y. After Mr. Wright retired from the U.S. Post Office, he and his wife moved to Fletcher, N.C. In 1999, they moved to Fredericksburg. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed bowling and his final passion was pool.

Survivors include his children, Nancy Zemske and husband Gene of Minneapolis, James Wright and wife Denise of Sea Bright, N.J., and Priscilla Scott and husband Ray of Spotsylvania; and four grandchildren, Ian Scott and wife Rachel of King George County, Rachel Locke and husband Ken of Springfield, Eric Scott of King George and John Wright of Sea Bright.

In addition to his family, he will be missed by his special friend, Louise King, and his many friends at Chancellor's Village.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, at the Chancellor Room at Chancellor's Village. Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made in memory of his wife, Genevieve, to the Alz- heimer's Association-Fredericksburg Office, 2217 Princess Anne St., Suite 106-F1, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
