Virginia S. Beasley

Virginia S. Beasley, 93, of Guinea, went to her eternal home on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014.

Mrs. Beasley was born on Jan. 23, 1921, in Yorktown. After moving to Spotsylvania County at a young age, she lived in Massaponax. She met and married Robert S. Beasley and settled at Spring Grove Farm in Guinea. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Herman Schiel and "Bud" Schiel; and her beloved son, Julius S. Beasley.

Mrs. Beasley was a lifelong member of Massaponax Baptist Church. She loved to garden and wanted nothing more than to see her family enjoying a home-cooked meal together. She enjoyed knitting, quilting and crafts of all kinds.

Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Normand (Donald) of Guinea and Paige Baigis (Jerry) of Aldie; two sons, Cutler Beasley (Patricia) of Guinea and Richard Beasley (Pam) of Massaponax; three grandsons, David Beasley, and Jonathan and Ross Baigis; three granddaughters, Amy Normand, Allison Beasley and Amber Beasley; sister Bette Sisk of Heathsville; and five nephews.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. John C. Edmonds and the Rev. Cecil McKinney officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
