Jean T. Nicholls

Jean Truslow Nicholls, 71, of Fredericksburg ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, with her husband by her side.

Jean was the daughter of John and Bernice Truslow. She was a lifelong Fredericksburg resident and proudly graduated from James Monroe High School in 1961. She was happily married to the love of her life, Charles Nicholls, for 51 amazing years. Together they founded Nicholls Auction Company in 1968, and turned the company over to their son 40 years later.

Jean and Charles were the ultimate team, and their love for each other was a testimony to many. To all who knew her, Jean brightened every room she walked into, and was thankful for all of God's many blessings in her life and consistently practiced the maxim "to whom much is given, much is required."

In addition to her husband, Charles, Jean is survived by her two children, John Nicholls (Lisa) and Valerie Parker (Bryan) and three "apple of her eye" grandchildren, Sophie Nicholls, Caroline Parker and Jackson Parker, all of Fredericksburg; her brother, John "Pete" Truslow Jr., of Salisbury, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Spotswood Baptist Church.

A celebration service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

If you would like for Jean's loving legacy to live on, please feel free to make donations to the Kingdom Work of Spotswood Baptist Church, 4009 Lafayette Blvd., Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
