BOARD THE Terrapin—Where the Rappahannock River snakes up-stream
from Tappahannock, a vast green sea of marsh grass gives way to cliffs that soar 100 feet above the chocolate-colored water.
An eagle and ospreys soar in the distance as Edward Wright Haile’s sailboat nears the shoreline a couple of miles upriver from
his dock on Occupacia Creek.
