The Stafford Sheriff's Office says someone smashed the doors to three county businesses early this morning, escaping with cigarettes and cash.

Deputies first responded to a report of a break-in at the Aquia Fas Mart at 2983 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 101, for a report of a burglary alarm that activated, Maj. David Decatur said.

Deputies arrived to find the front glass door shattered.

As they began to investigate and set up a perimeter, they discovered that two nearby businesses also were similarly broken into.

They included the Hunan Chef at 2983 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 104, and the Last Stop Mart at 3315 Jefferson Davis Highway.

Decatur said items taken included 37 cartons of Marlboro Light cigarettes and a small amount of cash from the Fas Mart; and a small amount of money from the Hunan Chef.

Decatur said nothing appeared to be missing from the Last Stop Mart.

A surveillance video from the Fas Mart indicated a man wearing blue jeans, a black ski mask and rubber gloves broke into and then ransacked the store, Decatur said.

Authorities did not have any other details about possible suspects.
