Downtown restaurant tenant evicted
Owner of William Street space is seeking a new tenant for 8,000-square-foot property.
Date published: 10/4/2010

Tommy Mitchell is again looking for a tenant for his 8,000-square-foot property at 409 William St. in downtown Fredericksburg.

The previous tenant, Puerto Rican restaurant Las Palmas Café, was evicted from the property Friday after failing to pay the rent. Mitchell said the bankruptcy case filed by the restaurant's owner was dismissed, giving him the ability to terminate the lease and change the locks.

The restaurant owners were allowed to gather their personal property inside.

Mitchell is looking for another restaurant to occupy the space. He's speaking to businesses outside the area but would also be interested in something locally owned.
