Man trapped in overturned fuel truck doing OK

A 77-year-old man who was trapped in an overturned fuel truck yesterday is doing OK. Gordon Kay, of Doswell, was driving along Jericho Road in Caroline making deliveries for R.G. Kay Fuel. Around 1 p.m., his wife was called by State Police saying her husband was trapped in the vehicle. It took Firefighters nearly an hour to remove him. Once removed he was able to talk and transported to Mary Washington Hospital by helicopter. I talked to the family today and they say Kay is doing OK. But he does have some cracks along his vertebre. He said he was driving down Jericho Road when a small brown car ran him off the road.Lines on the road show that his truck veered off and overturned in the field near the intersection of Jericho and Ladysmith Roads. State Police are investigating the incident.
