Attorney Turnover
Nov. 23, 2009 11:12 am
Deputy County Attorney Samuel Nugent resigned last week. Nugent had only worked for the county for a year, but was responsible for defending Stafford in a number of land-use cases, including the Potomac River Resource Protection Overlay District lawsuits. Nugent also acted as the attorney for the Planning Commission and sat in on their meetings. His reasons for leaving are unknown. "He's one of the best attorneys the county has ever had," Supervisor George Schwartz said. "He was certainly a superior land-use attorney. I'm sad to see him go."
