Event submission guidelines:
PLEASE READ--NEW: Local music for "Sounds In Town": For publication in the Weekender section of The Free Lance-Star, the following requirements must be met: (1) The name of the band/artist/DJ/etc must be specified. (2) Time, cover charge, and age-restriction info are required. (3) The name and street address of the venue must be clearly stated in the "Location" field. (4) The deadline is NOON on MONDAY for publication in that week's issue of Weekender. Events submitted after noon on Monday will appear online, but may not be published in the newspaper.
Please enter a detailed, but short, description of your event. Make sure to include
as much information about the event as possible. 2-4 sentences is the recommended length. The description is required.
Make sure to enter your contact info. Valid contact info is required for your event to be published.
Please only submit events that are local.
Please only submit events which occur within Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Stafford, King George, Caroline, Orange, Culpeper, Westmoreland and Louisa.
Events which are not local will not be approved. For out-of-town events, please Send a press release to Weekender.
(Out-of-town events submitted to the "For Kids/Family-Friendly" calender may be granted exceptions on a case-by-case basis)
Please be patient: Events may take up to 5-10 business days to be verified and appear in the calendar.
Please make your submission at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. Please do not submit the same event multiple times.
Send us an e-mail if you believe that an error has caused your event to be omitted from the calendar.
Please turn off your CAPS LOCK key! Entries in ALL CAPS will be deleted.
Only "entertainment" events will be approved.
Commercial solicitations, yard sales, advertisements, spam, business or for-profit events, grand openings, marketing promotions,
cut-and-pasted press releases, or any other inappropriate items or entries that don't conform to these guidelines, will be deleted.
Red asterisks (*) indicate required information. Incomplete entries will not be verified.

For Church and Religious events, the deadline is NOON on Wednesday for publication in Saturday's Religion Calendar in The Free Lance-Star. Events submitted after noon on Wednesday will appear online, but may not be published in the newspaper.
