A wind advisory is in effect for the Jersey Shore counties through 3 a.m. in Cape May and Atlantic counties. It's in effect until 6 a.m. for Ocean and Monmouth counties. 

Winter power outages are a common occurrence, but if you’re away from home for a while you might not know about downed power in your area. Before you leave, try this tip from @emerald_outlaw to save yourself from eating potentially spoiled food.

There’s no need to light a million candles and dig out your flashlight the next time you have a power outage. These rechargeable LED light bulbs @lindsayroggenbuck recommends charge every time you turn off your lights and when the power goes out you can use them as backup.

Typically, one hit from a tropical system is all the region sees in one year. However, just weeks after Tropical Storm Fay made landfall, Tropical Storm Isaias, who's storm track actually passed to the west of the region, was the tropical system that brought the greatest impacts.

The fourth largest power outage event in Atlantic City Electric's history came with Isaias, which passed to the west of New Jersey as a tropical storm.
